Information has emerged regarding the sequel to Sunny Deol’s film ‘Border’, which was released in 1997. Discussions about this film have been ongoing for a long time. Now, it has finally been revealed when this film will be released. Additionally, a new actor will be seen in this film who was not part of the first installment.
Last year in August, reports surfaced about the development of a sequel to Sunny Deol’s film ‘Border’. It was revealed that JP Dutta, along with his daughter Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan Kumar, are collaborating on this project. It was also disclosed that Nidhi will be taking on the directorial responsibilities this time. Now, some new information related to this film has come to light, including its release date.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, Anurag Singh will direct this film. It is also being reported that the makers are aiming to release this film on Republic Day in the year 2026. A source mentioned in the report stated, “‘Border 2’ is targeted for release on January 23, 2026. Given that the film is based on the Indian Armed Forces, the makers believe that there cannot be a better date than this for its release.”
When will Ayushmann and Sunny start working?
It is already known that Sunny Deol will reprise his role as Major Kuldeep Singh in this film, and Ayushmann Khurrana will also feature alongside him. The source further mentioned, “The film ‘Border 2’ was in its writing stage, and now the team has finalized a script that will meet people’s expectations.” It is also said that Sunny Deol and Ayushmann are excited to commence filming for this project by the end of the year.
However, apart from Sunny and Ayushmann, there is no information yet about which other stars will be part of this film. In the first part, stars like Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, and Akshaye Khanna were featured. The film earned ₹39.46 crores at the domestic box office and was a blockbuster.
