Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said on Friday that the loan of 2 lakh rupees will be waived off for the farmers soon. Speaking to reporters after the state cabinet meeting, Reddy said that farmers who have taken loans of up to 2 lakh rupees between December 12, 2018 and December 9, 2023, will be forgiven once in a while. Last week, the Jharkhand government also announced to waive bills up to Rs 2 lakh for farmers.

Free electricity with loan waiver in Jharkhand

Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren had said that his coalition government would waive off agricultural loans of up to two lakh rupees for farmers. Along with this, the free electricity quota will be increased up to 200 units. For this, he asked many banks to offer proposals. According to Soren, by 31 March 2020, farmers’ loans will be waived from 50 thousand to 2 lakh rupees through a one-time termination.
