The Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2024) is concluding today, January 12, after commencing on January 9. The event witnessed the launch of numerous innovative gadgets, including a pocket-sized AI assistant called Rabbit R1, introduced by an American startup in collaboration with Teenage Engineering. Rabbit R1 boasts a customized operating system and is positioned as a smartphone replacement, being touted as more intelligent than traditional smartphones. It is set to compete with Humane’s AiPin, unveiled a few days prior.
The price of Rabbit R1 is set at $199, approximately Rs 16,500, and it will be available in a single color: Orange. Sales in the United States are scheduled to begin in April, with pre-bookings accepted until March 31. Following the U.S. launch, Rabbit R1 will be made available in several other countries, including Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, South Korea, Japan, Sweden, and Britain.
Rabbit R1 comes with a customized operating system known as Rabbit OS, eliminating the need for downloading additional apps as it incorporates cloud-based services. The device enables users to perform various tasks such as booking a cab, shopping, sending messages, and listening to music.
In terms of specifications, Rabbit R1 features a MediaTek processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. It sports a 2.88-inch screen displaying information on music, weather, time, and more. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi and 4G LTE, with support for using a SIM card. The device is equipped with a 360-degree rotating camera featuring a privacy mode, allowing users to make calls and video calls. It houses a 1000mAh battery and a USB Type-C charging port.
